Who are we?
Josh Bergeron, LFA - Founder | Visionary | Designer
Consumed with a curious mind Josh is passionate about developing a healthy society that is in balance with nature. He grew up in Nordeast Minneapolis in an old Victorian house that he helped fix up with his parents and spent many summers with his grandparents in the hilly countryside of New Hampshire developing a love and connection for the outdoors.
Fortunate to have been surrounded by different cultures and walks of life as a child, he credits that with a deep admiration for the things that interconnect us.
Thriving in and engendering collaborative environments with committed, creative minds and a fun atmosphere Josh believes community is central to good design. Projects he is most passionate about contain purpose, process and personality.
Committed to the pursuit of regenerative design and development, professional development and systems thinking he believes that without theory (the why) and academia (the how) practice (the what) alone is hallow - to reach emergence each must inform the other.
With 17 plus years of Architectural experience in all phases of design and management from conceptual and master planning to
construction administration in: Workplace, Healthcare, Education, Arts and Culture, Industrial, Product Design & Fabrication, as well as business management, business development and entrepreneurship.
He has been on the Board of Directors for local environmental justice non-profit EJAM, is a co-founder of The Common Table exhibit at the MN State Fair, a co-founder of Birch Display and is a mentor and guest critic for the College of Design at the University of Minnesota and Dunwoody College of Technology. He holds a BS in Architecture and a Masters in Architecture from the University of Minnesota.
Josh strives to sustain work at the intersection of environmental, social and economic justice and design. He is influenced by the
need for equity in all communities and inspired by the field of Biomimicry, which seeks to tap into nature’s billions of years of
design experience to solve human challenges.
Nikolas T. Kouzes - Creative Director / Strategist / Concepter
July 3, 1981: Nikolas creates his first representational drawing. Labeled as fireworks, he referred to them as “boom-booms”.
Ever since that summer day (when Nikolas was only 22 months old), he has been communicating visually. And over the years he has developed, honed and expanded his skillset to include industrial design, illustration, cartooning, animation, video, painting, sculpture, photography…and his livelihood, design and art direction.
Once described as “always having to draw himself out of a problem”, Nikolas applies his many visual talents to helping clients tell stories, define brands, create products and simplify complexity with contextually creative results.
When he’s not helping others realize their vision or telling their stories, he’s working on telling stories of his own, through the mediums of sequential art, painting and songwriting.
